Leafs wouldn't do that deal for a position that isn't needed that much. Really not cap compliant and more issues next season with Reilly and other wanting raises.

How is that the Eichel package? You are comparing Ritchie to Tuch

Chychrun didn't play for the Soo Greyhounds so I doubt this trade happens.

No hes not. What he means by “Eichel Package” is the amount of assests returning. In the Eichel deal, there was 4 assests, which included a player that could slot into the lineup now, a prospect would could slot into the lineup now or the following season, and 2 high round draft picks, ideally a 1st round and 2nd round pick. A lot of hickey insiders have reported that if a Chychrun trade were to happen, that a trade structured like the Eichel trade would be the most likely scenario

Might just be a 3rd round pick, but Minnesota isn't taking on Justin holl , and the cap ensuring with him

Next season is next season tho, thats a later problem. Could be a mrazek deal, kerfoot deal, could even be a Muzzin deal that helps them get out of it.

Muzzin already showing signs of decline, and this trade doesnt take anyone off the current roster, just makes them better now and for the long run

Eichel got a blue chip prospect, a solid player in Tuch, and a 1st+2nd.

Instead of the solid player, I added 2 blue chip prospects, the 1st, and the 2nd. Ritchie is to balance the books, as ARI will still need him to get to cap floor, especially after Kessel is traded later this season

Could really be any team that is looking for defensive depth. EDM, ANA and others that are other options. Just chose MIN cause thats where Holl is from

No they've stated that Arizona wants a return of similar value to Eichel. Not just 4 assets

Neither of those prospects are in the same league as Krebs. Together they have around the same value as Krebs, maybe a slight bit more. Still missing the entire value of Tuch and then add in the negative value of Ritchie

What? Robertson is just about equal to Krebbs lol. He's an extremely highly touted player. Niemela is RD and won dman of the tournament last year during the world juniors... They are blue chips lol.

Ritchie doesn't have negative value. As I said, they need players to also reach the capfloor. With Chyk off, thats 4.6 and another 3.4 for Kessel, thats 8 mill. They also... need players to play for them lmao

Would Kerfoot instead of Niemela be better?

Except Ritchie is nowhere close to as good as Tuch
And the prospects aren’t on the level of Krebs
This package is quite LESS VALUABLE than the “Eichel package”

If someone’s gonna call it that, they should keep the overall value roughly the same

Neither Ritchie, nor Kerfoot, have any kind of value when it comes to getting players like Chychrun

And Roberson is not on the same level as Krebs as a prospect

U Leafs fans are hilarious 🤣🤣🤣

Robertson has had a handful of injuries now and his hype train has really fallen off. He had a good D+1 year but nothing really impressive since. He's still a fine prospect but Krebs definitely has a higher ceiling and plays a more important role.

Niemela is also fine but again you are over valuing him. He is not blue chip, he is not an A+ prospect.

How does Ritchie not have negative value? Come on man take off your blinders here.

You would have to add Kerfoot and not remove Niemela, i really dont yhink you get *** far off the value is

Niemela not an blue chip? Dude, the youngster is 19 years old and is leading the LaLiga in points as a defenseman. If not leading, very close to leading. He was named WJC best defenseman last year and his game keeps improving by the day.

So Nils Lundkvist 2.0, blue chip is the elite of the elite prospects. A+ level. Guys very l8kely to be top line/pair players.
