Chicago declines. Fleury at 50% will cost a 1st. Taking two cap dumps will cost at least a B prospect.

No it won’t. Koskinen is playing solid, and Turris is only 1.65M. You can definitely afford that. We are not giving a B level prospect for you guys to take Koskinen, and Turris. Fleury may cost a first, but your other part is not right at all in my opinion. Especially since they both have only one year left!

Then the hawks will trade him somewhere else. It's that simple. Fleury just won a vezina and is the reason the Hawks are able to steal some games this season. There is no other goaltending option on the market that has his resume.

Thats a low offer for Hertl, ESPECIALLY if it is with an extension.

Hertl half retained and with an extension will cost a whole lot more than a late first and an ahler

Hertl would not sign with the oilers unless 8 mil in cap space suddenly appears, and even then you guys have other needs. this would be purely a rental.

Definitely but asking for a B prospect on top of getting a first is ridiculous! A first is 100% enough, and Koskinen only has one year left and is playing very well. You are not getting more than a first from a team for Fleury.

Koskinen is not playing very well. .902 save %, 3.16 GAA, -5 Goals saved above expected. He's not NHL caliber. A 1st is not going to get this done. CHI is taking back more salary than necessary for no compensation. Fleury at 50% is worth a 1st alone, to dump cap, you'll have to add.

A first?!? No way. You do know what it costed Chicago to trade for him right? You are aware of that.

Unfortunately Both moves heavily favour EDM and neither SJS or CHI would be receptive of these.

Reminder: there cannot be conditional picks around contract extensions anymore under the CBA. So it doesnt matter.

Regardless, Sharks would want more

All that's done is push negotiations to before trades rather than after, see the Seth Jones trade.

Koskinen is carried by a good team (well not exactly a good team recently) the whole season he’s contributing to literally none of your wins you rely 95% on offence and the powerplay

Fleury has been stuck on this mediocre Hawks team and has a better save percentage Koskinen has no shutouts too while Fleury has two for good measure

I really don’t think I have to say anything more

That was for taking his entire contract, and nearly no other team in the NHL being able to do that. The hawks can afford to retain on him, and there will be multiple suitors. Market conditions have changed, price has changed. Simple economics.
