Description
I gotta say, I think next season for Buffalo is a huge wild card. They had some flashes this year that things are there in place. I think they'll be relatively quiet this year, but hopefully see some progression. I'm mostly not touching players in juniors or the AHL like Quinn and Krebs as I have no idea if they'll throw them all to the fire or they are a later call up. Power I think gets signed ASAP, he is the exception.

If Krebs and Quinn and to a lesser extent peterka are in the AHL next year, we will riot

R2 will be getting league minimum, if he gets another contract. Why on earth would you give Koskinen that contract?

Cap floor, that's the only reason. The other options were either just as bad or worse players, Fleury who I think retires or goes to Pittsburgh, and Campbell who I think Toronto keeps.

I leaned that way too, but if I'm not doing AGM for my favorite team I usually avoid plugging prospects in immediately so I can get feedback like this, so thank you!

You only have a 21 player roster, so even adding 2 league minimum players adds 1.5 million to the cap.

Before signing the Koskinen contract, it had them at like 30 million available space so I don't quite understand your point. And it really could say "Place Holder." I'm not sitting here saying Koskinen is good or worth that much, just a cap move and need a goalie to plug in.

I'm saying if you have a 23 man roster you don't have to spend as much on the goalie to hit the floor

Per your league minimum suggestion, it still leaves them a few million under. So yeah I guess you could sign a different goalie like Greiss to a more 2.5 contract or even Koskinen. That is fair. I think in my mind those extra spots were going to Quinn and Peterka and I just sort of forgot to bring them up/that everyone viewing would not read my mind.

I think Tage has cemented himself as a C for this team. Arttu might find himself getting the Kahun treatment come RFA season, so you don't need to push one of Mitts, Tage or Cozens to the wing with your current roster construction. I also imagine if Krebs, Quinn and to some extent Petreka, continue tearing up the AHL this season, they will all but be locks for the big club next season.
