1. Nick Holden can be signed for less.

2. Nick Paul will want a long-term extension.

3. Claude Giroux will sign for a lot more with the Flyers.

4. Ottawa should not be handing out 1st round picks to anyone.

I get it that the ask is high for Chychrun, but I would not be willing to give up those pieces for him, for the following reasons.

1 - He only has three years left on the deal and then will need a MASSSIVE raise which the sens won't be able to afford with the contracts they have coming before then, so they will lose him after that. this also most likely will not line up with a realistic Contending window for the team.
2 - Formenton will be a hugely valuable piece moving forward, see contacts coming, he has the ability to play in the top 6 if needed, has elite level speed which is a huge weapon right now, and is a PK player. The cost value for this would make him a player that I think the Sens need to keep.
3 - The draft this summer is very deep, especially in the first round. Even a top 10 overall pick will lead to a very good player and likely another top 6 forward.

The merits of Branstrom can be debated, I think since DJ doesn't seem to like him then he can be expendable to another asset given Thompson, Sanderson, JDB, but I think we can use that assets better than this deal.

6 Years for Giroux is way too long for this team. That would walk him to 39 years old at 6 per ouch. I would do Giroux but max 3 years.

I don't think Shaw or Ennis is back next year, as you are very likely to see Grieg and Sokolov make the team next year.

I think the best option for Brannstrom is to play him when he’s healthy showcase what he can do and then make the call to keep him or ship him out for a Legit 2C/W that is good on draws for Jimmy.

All this.

You forgot one thing, with Chabot and Sanderson already on left side, it would be totally useless to burn these type of assets on another LD, which would result in simply not enough playing time for all 3
