Sabres decline. It would cost far more to pry away the "party in the USA" king! Seriously though, taking back that team cancer is not in the best interest of the young core the Sabres are working to build.

A Skinner Kane could be possible but that's not it - Skinner underperforms his contract but Kane is a systemic risk.

He's a sunk cost and we don't need the cap space in the foreseeable future. Besides, he's been playing better this year than either of the past 2 seasons... I think the best course is to ride out the contract.
