Description

If the Stars become sellers as the deadline gets closer, it would not make sense for them to not try to get assets for a guy like Pavelski. This applies to the Flyers and Giroux as well. Many will wonder why the Flyers and Rangers would do a trade like this both being in the Metro. They did work out a trade for Lindros back in the day. Nemeth has not worked out as well as Drury would have liked so Butcher becomes a nice addition for the 3rd pair. The Rangers have enough assets in picks and prospects to make some moves to go all in for a playoff run.

We won’t need the retention. These seem like over overpayments which we could likely remove the retention and remove Gaut, Jones and Barron and still get these guys

You think Giroux only returns a late second and 2 late fourths?

Not sure if Giroux would waive his no-move to go to Manhattan (or anywhere for that matter).

Make the 2 4th another 2nd. Giroux with no retention as a rental. Two 2nds. Also he has sat in where he goes and probably will want to be closer to home. I don’t think we need to move multiple top prospects and a handful of picks.

I don’t doubt he could get that high if enough teams have the cap space to add him. He also had the ability to choose where like Hall did. I personally think if he agrees to a trade it will be divisional to be closer to home. Hall should have returned a similar package but dictated where he was going and with retention. All depends on what’s out there come TDL. Pavelski might not be available if DAL are in it and that would potentially raise the value of others. If PHI has a chance at playoffs then he isn’t being moved either

If you think that is enough to get Claude Giroux you are out of your mind. Flyers don’t want two sub par prospects a 2 and a pair of 4s. You have to start with an elite prospect as you would be getting back an elite player

It’s much closer than 2 prospects and 3 picks.

Both prospects and a 4th would get it done for sure
