So then protect Kerfoot and trade him, I guess.

Don’t undo the Hyman or muzzin moves. It eats up all your cap space for Marner

Don't think there was anything Toronto could do about Piet, Vegas playing IRL chel has effected the entire league

Don't think you understand the concept of UFA. Players can sign where they want, not just because the Leafs or their fans want them.

I feel those players would sign if Toronto showed interest in them with those prices and if Dubas and Keefe weren't there

the only improvement is McCann over Kerfoot, the rest is just a mess and a much worse team

There are some other ones, like Folingo, Marchment, Barabonov, Levi, Mrazek etc. but I mean, those were all, expect for Folingo and Mrazek, not really anything to be mad at because no one expected those guys to turn out good (and they are minor players anyways).

yeah, i mean there are a few for sure, but most are low level things like that and pretty much all of them are hindsight. Hell, Marchment was a mediocre AHLer, Barbanov was trash in the NHL here and Dubas did him a solid by finding him a team he could play for, he was never breaking into the Leafs top 6, Levi was a 7th round pick and 31 teams made that mistake at least 6 times and Mrazek and Foligno got hurt.
My favourite part about the Foligno trade is that the dubas haters were all "finally he gets it! he brings in the gritt leader man to save us!" and now they wanna crap on him for making a trade they looooved.

I hated the tunnel vision Dubas had for Foligno and Ritchie, so don't quote fans loved the Foligno move.... I wanted Jeff Carter, he was a cheaper trade value and was a more proven playoff warrior and was signed for one more season, which means Dubas wouldn't feel the need to sign Ritchie for $2.5 million.

I hated the Foligno move from day one, but at least he was a useful player when healthy. Had he not been injured he would have provided some value, but so many people were tripping over their own junk about how Dubas finally 'got it' or whatever. As far as Ritchie goes, yeah, that was too much for too long but you arnt gonna find a gm who hasnt had one of those signings, it's not like its hurting the leafs (yet)

Hyman, Brodie and Ritchie don't belong on this team, there is your cap space.

I smell a buyout in Ritchie's future, I wouldn't trade an asset to get rid of him, like trading a 1st Rd pick to get rid Marleau and C. Brown to get rid of Zaitsev.

if Ritchie keeps playing the way he has for the past 10 or so games you can probably find a team to take him off your hands for a 7th or use him as cap ballast in another trade. But if not, yeah a buy out is probably a decent option, especially since if done next summer his cap hit is only 300k for 22-23

The Campbell UFA will be interesting situation. Obviously Dubas signed Mrazek as a backup plan if Campbell does jump ship, but if Campbell resigns than Dubas will have to pull some strings to free up space. Like Kerfoot, Holl, Ritchie the likely options.

im not too worried about Dubas finding the cap space. He's never had to let a major piece go before. I also dont think Campbell will be as expensive a most people round here seem to think

                              No to all of these

First off Bogosian did not like the c-19 restrictions and border uncertainties in Canada and wanted to be near his family which was why he left.

Kerfoot has been great and while McCann's production has been better if we look you can thank his time on the PP for that. Put Kerfoot on PP unit 2 and he would probs be at 25+ points by now

Boyd would not have been as productive as he is in Arizona due to not getting any top 6 time.

Losing Marner for an older Dman in Pitrangelo would have been dumb

And the other trades are just unnecessary. Mrazek was brought in due to uncertainties about Campbell being able to be a starter for a full NHL season. Holl before this year looked good and Dermott is still a serviceable Dman and certainty an upgrade over hutton. Barabanov was never gonna get the opportunities he is getting in SJ and so on

In the end this team is worse than what we are currently fielding so yeah if Dubas did these moves now these would be the mistakes needing to be fixed.

Hyman, Brodie and Ritchie don't belong on this team, there is your cap space.

How does Brodie not belong on this team?!?!?! That's been one of Dubas' best moves.
