Not sure that’s a trustworthy source especially since it seems to be a rumour but that could be interesting, not sure Oilers want to add the cap though and I’d rather Yams than Debrusk right now

Malkin will probably be a top 6 F for the next 3-4 years, he won’t be cheap. With Lundell looking like he’ll be a star sooner than later and Bennett playing well, it just doesn’t make sense for Florida to sign Malkin.


Yeah, with Malkin’s injury history and Florida having Bennett, Lundell, Barkov, etc, not sure it’s a good fit

I mean what if theres an injury. Having insurance aint bad. Besides I think if it was between Malkin or Lundell at 3c (not including cap hit) Florida probs wants Malkin come playoff time

As how do you pass on a guy who won 3 cups and can score more than 20 goals a season when healthy

Basically even if your good in that position adding never hurts especially if its Malkin. A;; comes down to price which I have no idea what his ask is but should not be to high considering his age and injury history

You’re making a big investment signing Malkin. On the low end , he’ll cost 6 mill x 3, more likely somewhere in the 7.5-8 mill range. It’s not like hes going to take a huge discount and sign for 3 mill x 2.

You have to figure in cap hit, where lundell is going to be by next seasons playoffs (likely better than a 37 YO injury prone Malkin).

Depends. If Florida goes far why not take a discount to win a 4th cup. Pittsburgh seems to be on its last legs and management could decide to look towards the future. Yes they probs may make the playoffs via WC but dont think they go far this playoffs. While Florida or Tampa look good rn. As he said its not about the money as hes got enough of that. Could see him take a 1 year deal with Tampa or Florida to win if Pittsburgh decides to go the retool/build direction.

Malkin taking a discount is 6 mill x 3. I don't think there's a chance he takes a 1 year deal, he'll want term. I think Boston makes sense, maybe Minnesota.

I gave up when it was 5-2, checked the final score just now...unfortunately. It was just one of those nights, half the D (Cernak, Sergachev, Foote) was missing and it showed, Lagace wasn't good at all but it's not all on him, Panthers had an abundance of spectacular chances, and made the Lightning pay. Just forget about this one, get Vasi back in net and move on.
(If Vasi is indeed asymptomatic, he'll be eligible to come back tomorrow against the Rangers)

Phew. Well that explains at least a bit.

Although the bigger problem here is that it wouldn't even sound too out of touch to think that that was real, and that says everything necessary about Button's competence.
