I'm not bitter we didn't make a trade with NYR, I am happy we didn't. NYR fans have been insufferable from the beginning of the eichel drama, declaring everyone untouchable.
Meanwhile Kakko is on like a 28 point pace in year 3, lafrienere a 20 point pace in year 2, kravstov is in Europe and demanded a trade and on down the list we go
To your 1st point...following most of the posts, I didn't envy BUF fans- with other fan bases seeing "blood in the water"- and many Ranger fans part of this- especially with early connections involved with Eichel's desires to play in NY, associations with DQ, etc. For sure, that had to be tough to bare- seeing others continually looking to fleece BUF of a marquee star.
To your second point- Kakko's and LaF's numbers to date might seem underwhelming when compared to the expectations...but again- there isn't a team in the league that would say NO to either player. The talent is there for both guys. Outside of box cars, Kakko is really coming around. LaF still trying to figure out the NHL. Maybe the Covid world set back his development...maybe the Ranger's handling of him has set him back...who knows. But he still projects to be a very good NHL player. Krav is a different scenario...he's sure got the tools and skill set to be good in this league- the question is his maturity and mental make up. I'm less "bullish" on him for this reason- but if he does find a slight change in attitude maybe he does become a player in the NHL, and maybe a star. And beyond these 3 you come across guys like Othmann, Schneider, Jones, Robertson, Nils, Chytl, and then another 5 or 6 players who currently don't project as stars in the NHL, but have a realistic shot at being career NHL regulars.
