Leafs Trade Deadline

Created by: arman2002k
Team: 2021-22 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 23, 2021
Published: Dec. 23, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Bunting Matthews Marner has worked great for the Leafs. So, I don’t expect that line to be touched. Nor, do I expect the blueline to be touched either. Our blueline is honestly the best it gets for a Canadian team during the cap era.
While we may be forced to pay more for Forsberg and/or Farabee. It depends on how they’re performing come deadline.
However, Swedish Fillip Forsberg is being brought to Toronto to play with fellow Swedish William Nylander on a line centred by the captain John Tavares. An absolutely lethal second line.
Joel Farabee, is being brought in so he can be on a productive third line with Spezza and Simmonds. Two veterans, former captains, and mvp.
The team is topped off with an impressive fourth line of Parise-Kamf-Kase, a line I truly expect to be extremely effective. Especially for the playoffs.

Sure, Farabee, former 1st round pick, 21 years old, 75 point ish in 130 games, for someone the leafs are trying to get RID of, and a b level goalie prospect .... LOL (I'm a leafs fan btw.)

so....you trade Robertson and Dermott for Pulock and filler and then trade Pulock for nothing picks? What? What is the point of that? Pulock is literally the only thing with value coming back to the leafs in that.

The isles trade is laughable. They are not trading pulock to start with, not for that package and not retaining on him for 8 years. You probably looked at his UFA status and thought he has 1 year left and forget he signed an extension to start next year.

Sutter for a 7th is the only trade that would have any chance of happening in the real world.

retaining 2.5mil on pulock for nine years and trading him for a prospect and a bottom pair D would be a fireable offense

I'm quite convicned you have no idea who Ryan Poluck is. Because you traded him twice here, once for a quarter of his value, an once for a 9th of his value.

So here's the issue with the Pens trade. Value-wise it's totally fair and I like it. I think a Jarry/Mrazek tandem would be awesome, but there are two issues:

1) Money. The Pens simply don't have the space to take on Mrazek's salary.
2) The Pens have a young goalie in the AHL right now who will likely be the backup next year. His name is Filip Lindberg and he may even be a starter at some point.

That said, if money weren't an issue I'd probably still make the trade despite Lindberg because you never want to bank on fully unknowns. I'm not sure what would need to be done to get TOR to eat 50% without sending a high pick back, but it's enticing.

You realise that Pulock is signed to an 8 year extension, right? Why would the Isles, a team trying to compete, trade they second best defenseman and retain for EIGHT years? And why on God's green Earth are we trading our best prospect AND a decent defenseman for Parise. a fifth, and two third round picks? Nashville also declines. This is so laughably bad that I cant help but feel it's a troll job

@Saskleaf says it out loud (and @Nate implies it): the OP doesn't know who Ryan Pulock is.

Why? It's not like Sutter is going to play this season, take the free draft pick.
