Imagine how bad this trade would look if Eichel was traded to NYR

In situation in which Eichel was sold, it was a good return. For a healthy and prime Eichel, one would have to pay more.

Is this going to help you sleep at night? Trying to justify what they got for Eichel. It's over, he is gone, move on already. But it's really going to hurt when he starts scoring 40 goals a year in Vegas.

I’m happy with the return. Krebs is a point per game in the AHL. And Tuch is returning from injury. And he’s a proven 40+ point winger. This trade could have been a disaster.

I feel like given the circumstances and the position Buffalo put themselves in, they did pretty well.

Now if they would’ve just traded him in the first place, before all the shenanigans they would’ve gotten a much better return.

NYR and LAK were way too much in love with their prospects it's because they are national media centers these players get over hyped

They almost traded him in the 2020 offseason. Clutterbuck Cross-checking Jack in the spine slowed down the trade process.

I dont think there is a sabre fan in the world who is hoping for eichel to not do well in Vegas. He was our best player and wanted out and we were able to get a much better return than NYR could have put together. It is really going to sting when NYR couldnt put kaako of laffy on the table for a guy who can put 40 in the net a year seeing as they cant even put up 40 points in a year.

Not much has changed since Nov 4th. None of those pieces will be as good as Krebs or Tuch. Would have had to have been Laf or Kakko plus Schneider or Lundqvist to beat Vegas offer.

Quite happy as a Ranger fan with the team they have and Eichel going to Vegas. Rangers will be a good team for a lot of years without him thanks to Laffy, Kakko and all the other young players they have. Buffalo fans will be happy watching them in the playoffs for years to come while their team plays golf.

IMO, the trade should’ve been made the first time he asked out. Which was back during the 2020-21 season I believe. Might have been the same timeline you’re referring to. But I can’t imagine teams didn’t have serious interest then and weren’t offering a better package. But like I said given the position they put themselves in they did pretty well on the return. Krebs was a treat to watch for the ice.

I guess we will have to wait and see. I am sure you will not run into any cap issues in the near future... your window may be closing before it even really opened

All teams, if they have a good team, will have cap issues come up. It's the nature of the cap. It doesn't apply to Buffalo because they aren't a real hockey team or franchise.

Georgiev had a horrendous start but the last 6 games he’s been .931 and 2.00 GAA. If our offence showed up it would have us at the top of the league. Chytil should turn it around also so I’m not concerned with him. Kravs, I’m pretty much over him and don’t care if he finds his path as he likely won’t be with us. Picks are picks but if your front office can’t draft then it’s pointless.

Hmm... kravtsov having 12 points (6G & 6A) in 15 KHL games while being PLUS 5, or Peyton Krebs with 14 points (4G 10A) in 16 AHL games while being MINUS 10. So can you please repeat how Kravtsov isn't scoring? Or at least how you justify saying Krebs is so much better than him?

Yes Tuch can come back and be a decent player but how much of his production was a result of him being on a strong team in Vegas? Also anybody that knows anyone that had shoulder surgery, it doesn't always bring it back 100% (I hope it does for Tuch's sake). Hopefully it doesn't turn into a Tarasenko situation where he needs 2 or 3 until the problem is really fixed.

Chytil has been incredibly snake bitten, but at least he's still driving possession play at +6 rel CF% and one of the few rangers over 50%. Definitely has upside that hasn't been touched yet but is more likely going to end up a 2nd line winger since he is abysmal at faceoffs.

Georgiev was horrid to start the year but since he's gotten regular playing time in Shestyorkins absence he's looked better (not great but much better than he was). His last 5 games he has 4 games over a .920 save percentage, it was the one colorado game that he had no chance in that was below.

The 1sts are a wash essentially as the draft is always a gamble.

We will see how it pans out over time.

AHL>KHL. Krebs has 19 points in 18 games. You would think a top 10 pick from 4 drafts ago would at least be a PPG in the KHL.
