Initial Creation Date: Dec. 23, 2021

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Sabres trade there package (very similar to Reinhart deal) with Vancouver in order to speed up the rebuild process. We lose Rosen and a late 1st however it shouldnt hurt too bad. Boeser is a top 6 winger and with still a top 10 and late 1st to add to the giant prospect pool we have. Add 2 2nd round picks this year and 3 2nd round picks next year we can afford to lose Rosen. Still have over 10 million in Cap space after all these moves, Okposo (6mill) Bjork (1.4mill) and Girgensons retention (1.1mill) come off the books after the 22-23 season, Giving plenty of money to extend Cozens and Thompson.

Vancouver declines. Florida's 1st will be a late pick and Rosen may or may not be an NHL player. Buffalo would need to add their '22 1st for the Canucks to even consider trading Boeser.

It didn’t look great at first, but it certainly doesn’t look so bad when you consider how good Devin Levi is playing. He might be the best goaltending prospect in the league, or at least top five.

Over his last 10 games, he has a .966 save percentage and a 1.0 gaa.

Yeah right dude. Boeser has been just above average for like 2 years.
Rosan might be an NHLer where dis you pull that from. He was a top 15 pick. I would bet just about anything that if boeser is traded it would not be for a better package than this

Idk where this energy is coming from the RFA trade market was unusually low last year. And buffalo getting a first and what appears to be the best Goalie prospect maybe outside of askarov is not a bad hull.
Let's wait and see what Van does they do not have a great track record.

I like the Vegas trade idea - taking cap for a pick - but why didn't you retain 50% and flip him for another pick? Lots of teams would rent Smith at $2.5M.

Also, Hinostroza could get a 3rd on his own (no retention) so the trade itself is a loss, but the idea is solid.

Lots of top 15 picks don't make it in the NHL. If Boeser is traded it will be for a better package than that.

Sure but there is nothing in his development that would suggest he won't make it.
Boesers worth will be determined by the cap.
