Yeah, definitely needs retention to fit your cap, but I think even before that another 1st is needed for Kane. He's still an elite player playing at a high level.

Another first added on at the very least. Kane is a generational talent. That's not cheap no matter what point in their career.

Kakko and two 1st round picks should be the minimum in my opinion. Patrick Kane elevates his game guaranteed come playoffs+this+that aka he’s expensive.

It'll be 50% retained. And it should be quality for quality. Kaapo Kakko is the natural piece going back. He's a RW. Kane will easily be the NYR best RW and KK will get less developed because he'll get less ice time and KK won't ever get put into pressure situations once Kane's there. That's the starting point imo.
