The Price is Wright

Description
Buffalo would be ridiculed and crapped on but this would be fun. Especially because this team isn’t effectively tanking it would be pretty cool to see a prize of Wright to really cap off our impressive prospect pool

Not sure in value for Bear, but I believe this is pretty fair. A younger cost controlled RHD for a cheap young center that has shown solid production going back to Granato taking over. His injuries this year hurt his value

UPL, Mann, and Subban battle for the backup gig in Buffalo. Hope to see UPL take it and start pushing Driedger towards a 50/50 split to eventually take over

There’s the cap space to spend big on a UFA with some solid term and putting that into Nichuskin would be wise. A monster winger that has the speed and creativity but can also play a simpler effective game that can compliment well what Cozens has done to date

Does Carolina really need another center?

Canes pass. He wouldn’t even be our 4C.

If this wasn’t Mittlestadt but rather Bryson (young LHD) and a 3rd rounder let’s say, is that more attractive?

Only if Chatfield really is ready to take over and we need the cap space. Other than that it is a sell low.

As someone I used to know once said, “The price is wrong, B****!” Canes don’t need another C, we got more than enough in the pipeline. Outside of Power or Dahlin, Buffalo really has nothing that the Canes really want. Canes would gladly add another 2018 1st rounder though, as we seem to be collecting them, and Dahlin fits that bill. Outside of the 2 players I mentioned, Buffalo really has nothing of real value to offer the Canes.

Canes would match anything short of 5/6. Then you're giving up a 1st for him. Rumor has it Carolina are discussing an extension with him already anyway,

Do you think they’ll be able to afford re-signing both bear and Deangelo?

As a Canucks fan, I can tell you that Chatfield is never going to be ready to take a regular spot

He has looked really good for us. Small sample size so that is why I am hesitant. Played top 4 with Skjei, was physical, made good plays, skated well, and jumped into the O like we want. He seems pretty ideal for a 6D to me in our system. We’ll see how he does when he comes back from injury.

Maybe a 7th or 8th D, but I don't see him as being versatile enough to be a regular
