I can't see Nemec over Wright, Miroshnichenko, Gauthier are too high, Geekie, Casey too low, Fimis, Nelson, Haight and Goyette should go higher

Can't see him falling. Yes, he's had a relatively slow start to the season (production wise), but he also didn't play for over 1.5 years and I am confident that his production will still increase. Wright also has less flaws than Nemec in his game.

Thanks. Nemec is a household name in NA, but he is a very solid player and probably as good a shot as any at #1.

Honestly, he hasn’t been playing terrible. And that is kind of the problem. If it was just a bad run, okay then, there is more to come. And even though the last games before break were better, I’m not sold on 1oa. His ceiling may be a lot lower than people once thought.

So was Nolan Patrick until WJC in his draft year. I don’t think it matters much where he stood before season.

Not like this. Nolan Patrick was kind of a placeholder. Not in the realm of wright. That was a crappy top end of the draft. Obvious nico was a pretty crap number 1 overall.

2017 was unexpectedly uncertain, but the top-half of the 1st round appear a lot better now than it did pre-draft.

Nolan Patrick was not a placeholder at all. He was the consensus number 1, viewed as a franchise Number 1 center, but not quite McDavid or Matthews. And he was seen as being a lock on the first overall slot. The scouting on him was that he does all things well, but no one thing stands out as an elite attribute.

McKenzie: 2017 will be the “Nolan Patrick Draft”

Marr: Patrick is as complete an NHL package as you are going to find...everything any NHL team is looking for in a top prospect.

Hockey Writers: Consensus Best Player

Consensus number one...a franchise centre

Potential to become franchise centre

Consensus number 1

Consensus number 1 and franchise centre

A franchise centre

Sportsnet: Patrick a lock for number one even if he doesn't play another game this season

Merak: Patrick is a future franchise centre.

Button: A franchise centre and superior talent who stands alone at No. 1

TSN: Can't miss franchise centre

It all sounds very similar to Wright in 2022.

There are many similarities between Patrick in 2017 and Wright in 2022 are. Here is one example from Bob McKenzie of TSN.

Quoting: McKenzie-on-Patrick-and-2017-draft
Until someone proves otherwise, this will be termed the “Nolan Patrick Draft.”
Patrick is clearly No. 1 on TSN's Top 15 preseason draft rankings. Ten out of 10 scouts surveyed by TSN had him at No. 1 and no other prospect was close to him in voting.
"It's Patrick's spot to lose at this point," said one NHL head scout.
Former Wheat King head coach and general manager Kelly McCrimmon, who is now assistant general manager in Las Vegas fervently believes Patrick has what it takes to be a No. 1 centre in the NHL.
"He's going to be a good, maybe very good, NHL player," one scout said, "but he isn't a dynamic player. His skating isn't bad but he's not dynamic like those others [McDavid, Eichel and Matthews]."

Quoting: McKenzie-on-Wright-and-2022-draft
Let’s make one thing clear from the get-go: The 2022 NHL Draft is the Shane Wright Draft.
The Kingston Frontenacs’ centre is the unanimous No. 1 on TSN’s Pre-Season 2022 NHL Draft Rankings. Ten out of 10 scouts surveyed by TSN identified the 6-foot, 185-pound Burlington, Ont., native as the clear-cut choice.
“No. 1 this year is his to lose,” said an NHL team head scout.
Wright starts this season as the undisputed top prospect, who is universally projected to be a high-end No. 1 NHL centre.
“He’s not a generational talent; he’s not Connor McDavid,” said another NHL head scout. “But he has all the tools to make you strongly believe he’ll not only be a No. 1 centre in the NHL but have a chance to be amongst the better players in the NHL.”

I don’t hate this but Wright will still go #1. The part where I really draw the line though is having Bystedt down in the third. He’s a late first easily. And I don’t think Lambert drops this much, I honestly think he goes ahead of Savoie
