If evander Kane was tradable, he would have been traded already.

I know I’m (almost) alone here, but the Wild should absolutely NOT make a future-mortaging trade like this! They’ve being doing stupid **** like this forever and all they have to show for it and s 20 years of mediocrity!!

As a pure rental: no way. A huge overpay for a guy that plays 20-something games for you. If there is an extension, it could be something to think of, tho.

so half the league has sent scouts to watch the Barracuda for John Leonard?

Teams scout AHL teams literally always.

There was 1-3 and then the first game Kane played in there was 8. His third home game and first against the Eagles there was 7. This wasn't a coincidence, just stop

Maybe they’re keeping an eye out for after the inevitable buyout. No one is taking a multi year risk on Kane though.

I wouldn't acquire him at all actually. Ottawa is not very strong financially under Melnyk so they always have to be careful about salaries

Labanc makes $5,875,000 the last 2 years of his contract, it's way too much for how he looked the last few seasons.

I'd take a chance on him if Zaitsev or Murray was going the other way

It has nothing to do with "risk"

NHL teams just don't want that "cancer character type" near their team... Evander has been giving multiple chances and time to work on himself, he's apparently still a grade-A a-hole so nobody wants to have him around. Players have agents, these agents talk, the NHL is a VERY SMALL world, no one wants Kane, plain and simple. He'll be bought out and disappear

I'd be PISSED at my GM if he was acquiring him, even with a 1st round pick attached and 50% retention. It'd be like a Logan Mailloux type brain fart.

No, i do think it’s about risk. This league has showed time and time again that if you have talent, they’ll put up with a lot. This league has also shown that there’s a general risk adverse nature for multi-year deals. Four years of Kane seems like theres not a chance he gets moved. If he’s bought out, i can all but guarantee he gets a 1x1 somewhere.

Totally agree with your assessment of labanc.

I would totally agree with this in most cases but the thing is Evander Kane has a reputation and is known by other NHL players. Too many guys just straight up don't like him. There is so much emphasis on team spirit and chemistry, we don't really see it as fans but that's why no one will want to RISK (in a sense you're right then) destroying their locker room.

This is not a coincidence that several of his teammates have HATED him. He's done and it's a good thing as society is (finally) changing

I mean, playing in the NHL is a PRIVILEGE. I'd much rather see a guy a little less talented but MUCH MORE deserving living his dream and this privileged life. Not a headcase like Kane. He can go get second chances (I mean millionth chances) somewhere else.

A lot of people said the same of Deangelo. Bought out, signed a 1x1. I think it will likely be the same with Kane.

DeAngelo is an ANGEL compared to Kane... He's just a brainwashed stupid Trump supporter.

Evander Kane is MOST LIKELY a WIFE BEATER on top of everything else. The word in the NHL is that people HATE him for real.

I don’t need the caps. I know what is meant to be emphasized.

People hated Deangelo too. Teammates punching him in the face. Multiple suspensions for racial slurs. But he can run a PP, so he gets a low risk contract. Kane can score 30 goals, so he’ll find a home.

Not sure I understand this, I mean you can't know what the interlocutor wants to emphasize in advance...

And for the Kane matter, we will see. You think he'll find a new home, I think he'll be out of the league

Like I said before, this is a privileged life and assholes don't deserve it. There's plenty of talented players around the world who want their chance. The pool of talent is higher than ever, the NHL doesn't need Kane.

lol we already talked about that

If you think that Evander Kane and ADA are on the same level of a-holism, I can't explain you life in one post.

It's ok, let's just move on.
