Kapanen for Miidle is probably a deal. At the max in my opinion.

More so expendable yeah, this depends on how Krebs look at C too. But if Krebs comes in and we draft Cooley/Savoie or get lucky with Wright we have a ton of center depth

I added Bleuger because he’s a pretty expensive 4C and extensions are needed for at least Geno and Letang right?

    Gotcha
If we’re getting another high end forward prospect with our 1st pick, the maybe we should be trying to get a decent RH defenseman instead of Kapanen ?

    Speaking of RH defensemen….
If we aren’t in a position to get one of those high end forwards,
I’d love for us to consider David Jiricek in the draft as a potential long-term partner for Dahlin or Power

In what world has Mark Jankowski deserved a 33% raise and Brett Murray doesn't get an RFA deal.

I think I’d prefer Nemec. Jiriceck definitely has more offensive upside, but with Dahlin and Power in the system already, I’d prefer the player with the better chance to dominate in his own end, and I think Nemec fits that bill, while also bringing some offensive upside.

    How does Samuelsson look?

He looks like he could be a defenseman that’s very good in his own end, with the ability to put up some points. If he stays on the left, he likely ends up 3rd pair for the Sabres with a lot of PK minutes. He looks like he could be a solid 2nd pair guy, but long term he would likely have to play on his off hand if he ends up there for the Sabres, unless one of Dahlin or Power switch over.

That's a no from PIT. Blueger is part of one of the best 4th lines in the league and Kappy > Mittelstadt so BUF adds

I wouldn't do Blueger straight up for Middlestadt if I'm being honest. That's a bad return for Pittsburgh.

Putting rookies at top-6 center is rarely a good idea. I'd keep Mittelstadt another year at least to give the younger guys some cushion to work themselves into the league.

I'm reading that there's a lot of Chiarot in his game, I.e. he's a really physical/ dirty defenseman and that masks the fact that he's actually not very good defensively. That gives me pause.

This is all a little weird. We haven't even seen Peterka yet, and you are already trading for Kapanen. If we were trading in one of our young centers, it would have to be no more than 25 years old for RD. Logan Cooley seems like a good choice, but I still like Nemec, Lambert and Yurov. Wright and Savoie too, of course.

I haven’t seen too much on any of these guys
Just started looking into it really

It would be great to get a “shut down” guy or 2
Either to pair with Dahlin & Power for balance, or to even play together as a lock down pair & let Dahlin & Power focus on the offense
