I can't agree with my fellow Pens fan. The Pens are likely making the playoffs. There's no chance they move Rust in the mix of that.

imo only if they overvalue rust like crazy and this is not the case...

I just don't think there's any scenario other than the Pens imploding by the deadline. Unless the Pens are replacing his services somehow, he's far too valuable to playoff run. Not to mention there's ZERO chance he's traded in the division if the Pens are still in the playoff mix.

It's not about the return. Unless the Pens implode and they're far out of the race by the deadline, they're not moving Rust in the middle of f playoff run. It just makes zero sense.

Because the team needs to get picks and prospects. They won’t trade their star player and captain for someone who very well could play third line
