Caps decline the CBJ trade. Mantha is younger, cheaper, and really freakn good. On top of that Jensen is a top 3 defensemen.

They also decline the CAR trade. They have Samsonov who is younger, cheaper, and has a higher ceiling than Andersen.

MAYBE they consider the EDM trade but they already have a pure offensive, bad defensive, defensemen in Carlson, don't think they need another in Barrie.
