I dont know if that works from an Oilers perspective. The value of players is close, but EDM doenst have a lot of cap room and JBs q/o is over 4M I believe. Yamos nxt contract will probably be in the low 2s

There are a number of possibilities.

I wouldn’t trade crouse straight up for debrusk. Jake is a good player but I don’t think he has more value than crouse

I know the QO is high - but there is a scenario for players to not get offered at QO and sign with the same team at a lower. Whatever team that ends up with Debrusk may not necessarily have to keep him at that number. I can definitely see Debrusk get traded to EDM and not get a qualifying offer and still sign with EDM at a lower number to make it work, particularly if Debrusk feels he can succeed in that situation.

Or they can extend him before the contract ends.

Or he plays well enough for them to make the offer which he declines because he does not want a 1 year deal there he wants term and they can sign him for whatever.

The QO ix almost irrelevant

He doesn't have any trade value. He can be a UFA unless he receives a QO this summer. Sure looks like no team would pay him 3.6m

Crouse sucks. He’s a big guy that doesn’t even play big half the time. He’s the type of guy you see a high light game of wonder how he isn’t one of the best power forwards in the league, then you watch the next 10 games and he just disappears. Imo he is massively overrated particularly on here.

To me Crouse is a bottom six forward and gets paid like a bottom six forwards he gets some hits and an occasional fight - The Sabres besides not having very much top end talent are very soft and could use a guy like Crouse - Debrusk doesn't seem to do anything well enough for me to make an effort to get him.
