This is what he brings to the team. Some fleshly plays here and there, zero leadership nothing to power play or pk.

Apparently you cant count because nobody with a brain would be buying out a player with a .62 ppg.

Same as in your Detroit one, don't think Armia is something we would do.

Drouin won't get bought out for obvious reason, he's a good player, if we'll buyout someone, it'll be Byron because he's overpaid and would take space away from a younger player like Ylonen or RHP

Byron brings more value to this team than Dourin.
Our pk is so bad now that we're missing Dauault and Bryon. Dourin was a bad trade from day 1.

Why would you take RD in a draft which is very strong at C, when a team like Montreal, needs Centers desperately. Evans and Poehling, from what I have seen are both fringe 3C, with Evans slotting in higher. You got Suzuki and Dvorak, albeit how is that Dvorak trade looking right now? Should have matched the OS, just my opinion. Suzuki is bearing most of the load right now, but not having true depth behind him is going to turn out very bad.

I’m just saying, if you don’t have any quality centers in the pipeline, and the upcoming draft is a Center strong draft, you should probably draft a couple of centers.

there’s no real point to buying out drouin, why stick yourself with the extra cap in the future when the contract’s only got another year and the habs won’t be competing anyway. keep him and i’m sure they can get a pick for him at 50% retained next year

I'm not sure it's for no reason. I've watched a lot of Canadiens' games this season, and Chiarot has played very well. He eats minutes and has been one of the few bright spots. He was also outstanding for them during the last two playoffs. He isn't a top pair guy, but he is a second pair guy who is responsible and physical. If a team has Stanley Cup aspirations, then they would assume that the 1st round pick is a later pick. Giving up that late pick for Chiarot would be worth it. There are plenty of teams that need what he brings, and I can absolutely see him netting Montreal a first. Please don't hate: this is just my opinion. smile

Take out the retention and make it a 4th and NYR would do it

I understand a team like Washington or a team that’s atop the league trading for him because the first would be late. I don’t see a team like Edmonton doing it cuz that first could easily be an early first. Trading for chiarot will not bump them into the contention category. I just don’t see it. Plus they could use that first for some way better imo

Fair enough, and agree to disagree. I am not a Canadiens fan, but, at least in my opinion, taking a chance at drafting a player in the mid-to-late first round (in a mediocre draft) that may someday be even close to Carey Price is, at best, a massive risk. He gets a lot of hate, but there are plain few goaltenders that I would want come playoff time (which is why a team would acquire him. Edmonton, for all intensive purposes, will make the playoffs with a combination of Smith and Koskinen in net: they will make it with regular season Price, as well. Playoff Price? I'm surprised this is up for debate).
