A. No thank you to Malkin
B. Habs deal is good as it helps both
C. Not ready to trade 1st round picks, yet. Plus will cost at least one prospect with picks.

I think Detroit would pass on that trade. Like its not much to give up and sure Allen would be a nice back up, but Armia is just a bit too much term with a cap hit far greater than what he brings. I even really like Armia as well. I just feel like that trade benefits Montreal so much more than it helps Detroit. On that reason alone I would pass.

As good as Chychrun might be with the Wings, the Wings shouldn't be trading likely two lottery picks for him. I like the path Wings are on. But they are one of few teams with lots of cap going forward. They will be able to attract good UFAs going forward without trading first rounders. Think the Wings would rather have 7m to spend rather than Allen and Armia.

Why would Detroit trade away 2 first round picks for Chychrun when they could just sign Hampus Lindholm as a UFA? Save the assets. Continue building through the draft. I like Yzerman's first round picks so far. Seider, Raymond, Edvinsson, Cossa. Let's keep it going. 😁

But the wings have no use for Allen.

Lol don't know why Vegas would trade that for price, he's not worth that at all.
