Quoting: RaZZe
I don't get why the asking price for Chiarot just keeps going up. A 1st would be a highway robbery for the Habs
Also, the Sekera trade is not a good comparison, as he had just had a breakout season of 44 points in 74 games
1. It's not that the asking price for Chiarot just keeps going up.
Multiple teams are rumoured to be in on Chiarot.
For instance, Elliotte Friedman speculated a while ago that the Edmonton Oilers might pay a 1st for Chiarot.

And now, Pierre Lebrun has said that the Panthers really want Chiarot as well.

2. Before being traded, Sekera's point production plummeted to 19 points in 57 games.
A far cry from his breakout season the year before.
Also, point production is not the reason why teams will be offering a 1st for Chiarot.
David Savard is another example who had extremely poor point production with a team in the basement, but was still traded for a 1st.
