I think the oilers would be more interested in Zub over White so maybe replace them?

Also turn the 2022 2nd for a top 8 protected 2023 1st

Something else of high value needs to be added in as well

And then depending on where that 1st rounder ends up (top 3 maybe), the oilers would consider.

Not enough value for Draisaitl. Gotta remember you’re trading for one of the best players in the world with a great contract to boot.

Crazy enough, I feel like Draisatl is worth more. If that was the Rangers, I’d practically throw the kitchen sick to acquire him, I’m talking Laf, Miller, Kakko, Chytil, Lundkvist, Kravtsov and 3-4 1sts (yes I’d give up all of those in said hypothetical for Drasaitl). And if I’m being honest I wouldn’t take that deal if I was Edmonton. I wouldn’t even consider it. When you’ve got a guy who is that good, and another who is even better, you gotta figure out how to build a team around them to win.

Well start the trade with Stutzle. And if you say forget it, I agree. And so does Edmonton.

Draisaitl won't leave for that package

1. You are 200K short of Dylan Gambrell's QO.

2. You are 100K short of Adam Gaudette's QO.

3. Draisaitl is having just as good of a season as McDavid, if not more so.

And he has a way better contract than McDavid as well.

And recently, I was comparing a hypothetical trade for McDavid to the infamous Gretzky trade.

Edmonton declines.

Try again.

Ottawa can't afford to do that simply because Draisaitl only has 3 more years on his contract. Unless there is a change in ownership, high profile players won't want to stay in Ottawa with current ownership/management

Shane Pinto is hard to give up on but Draisaitl is among the players I'd be ready to sacrifice Pinto for.

If the pick really was the first overall then it has gigantic value as well. Brannstrom, White and 2nd add value but the main pieces are that 1st and Pinto. Despite what people will say, I wouldn't add another elite piece on top of that. At the beginning of his contract sure, but not when it's more than 50% done.

That being said, why would Edmonton do that? They want to compete now, not when that first OA, Pinto, Brannstrom all peak...

If they trade Draisaitl, it has to be for a top pairing D-man and a good top-6 forward but young enough to compete for years, let's say Miro Heiskanen and Roope Hintz for example
