Cernak is exactly the type of RHD they need with Dahlin. Then Jokiharju with Samuelsson/Bryson and Power with a hopefully resigned Pysyk. Dahlin struggles when teams are real physical with him. He needs a big physical presence to settle him down.

Because he’s an RFA, I could see a 1rst and a 3rd for Cernak. I don’t think Tampa is in a hurry to get rid of him because he’s young and has low cap. I’d say a 2nd round pick for Brännstrom.

Girard doesn't make much sense IMO, I'd want someone like Cernak or Carlo to go with Dahlin or Power.

Cernak is most needed, but I don't know if Tampa is ready to trade him, their RD depth does not seem good.

I through Girard in as a feeler, i knew the price was going to be high. If it costs Tuch idek if the Sabres even consider it.

For Brannstrom, it's going to take a 2nd round pick.

Like in the Jake Bean trade between Carolina and Columbus.

I wouldn't trade Girard for Tuch. Imo, Girard is very underrated by folks on this site, and Tuch (while I like him quite a bit) is the opposite. Girard also plays a more valuable position. Buffalo would need to add in order for me to think about it. Just my opinion though. Others obviously might feel differently.

A 1&3 may be Cernak s market value, however his value to TB is far greater than that. He's their best player at their weakest position and still has 3 RFA years. So, unless it's a grotesque overpay they'd have ZERO reason to trade him. Besides he is 1of only 3 NHL ready RHD under contract

a straight up trade would be fine value. But it's not a fit rn for the Avs. They need Girard. Could be done in the off season depending on how things go.

I think they can do better than Tuch. For example, they can chase Hertl and Gio in free agency and then trade Girard for futures. Even that I'm lukewarm on, and this particular example is obviously a long shot, but it's a better strategy than movung Sam straight up for a middle six wing (imo).

Cernak isnt going anywhere, hes our best RHD and is very underrated. it would take more than his value to pry him out of Tampa. talking an unprotected 1st + a top prospect

Price you might have to pay to get people to Buffalo. And when you have 20mill in cap why not have a great partner for Power or Dahlin

Girard would at a minimum be Tuch + a decent kicker, nothing else makes sense for them. Contracts work out, Girard plays the more important position and is better, Tuch has a bit of an injury history and some consistency concerns this the kicker. Maybe a 2nd rd pick in 23 or 24.

I don’t disagree if they could make a Girard for Teravainen trade work that would be kinda sweet.

Tuch (or possibly Olofsson) PLUS for Girard (with the plus being more or less depending on which) so Buffalo wouldn't be likely to pay it.
