Penguins lose big here. Kapanen is worth more than that.

Boston does not even consider it. Zboril was playing very well before the injury. Debrusk and Kap are close to a wash. Zboril worth more than a 5th.

I think Kapanen is better than Debrusk, which is why I added Zboril

Well you can think that but….

KK 270 games 59g 136pts

JD 272 games 72g 143pts

Same age neither play C, neither will win a prize for defense or play physical.

Had Debrusk not slumped the last 2 he’d be way ahead offensively

🤷🏻‍♂️

Think that's a no from both teams. PIT already have so much LWs so I don't see the point of moving Kappy for one more.

Plus BOS is not moving Zboril. DeBrusk for Kappy is a W for BOS but the rest is not.

And his slump is what’s relevant. What he did 4 years ago isn’t relevant now

So you think his slump is permanent?

He’s certainly not going to get back to his rookie year. What we are is what we get from both of these players at this point. Marginal improvement maybe but neither is a top 6 forward

His rookie year he 16g in 70 games. His slump the last 2 years has him at 10 in 66.

He’s been playing good hockey since requesting the trade, points just have not come.

When a GM makes a trade what they are concerned with is what they will get going forward. Who they think the player will be. KK has been pretty consistent his career this far. He’s a solid but not great middle 6er. Debrusk has shown that his top end is higher than KK, the question is do they think they can get it out of him.
