Arizona isn't doing that but some kind of trade with Scheifele going to the NYR for Schneider+ coming back might work.

Arizona would jump all over the first deal, but obviously the Jets wouldn't offer that. While the Rangers wouldn't do the last deal.

Arizona doesn’t jump all over that lol. They’re insanely high on chychrun, and scheifele only has 2 years left plus a 10 team trade list that Arizona isn’t on. People overrate scheifele imo, he’s awful defensively.

Am I missing something with Schneider? I feel like that’s a solid deal for NY if Copp signs an extension. Maybe since Schneider is a RD? Heinola and Schneider are probably very close in terms of value. Copp worth a 1st with an extension.

Why would a rebuilder give up their best player and a 1st for a guy who will not fit their timeline.

Dude it’s Copp, a pending ufa who has never put up 40 points why do you think he has all that value?

Copp is their best faceoff guy and would be ours too. Having him winning 55% of 5v5 faceoffs could have the 2nd line at a whole new scoring level. Haven’t looked at term and I know Schneider is said to be “untouchable”. Would be interesting to see if him and Strome have different strong sides. I don’t have access to those analytics but if the 2nd line could be even more efficient at possession, I think it’s a massive upgrade

Lol. Yeah he is awful defensively, but still a 1C. Getting two years of a 1C for 3 years of an average at best 2nd pairing LD would be more than they could ask for.

As far as Schneider, I agree it looks fair value wise, but Ranger fans seem to have him as pretty much untouchable from what I've seen.

It’s a great deal for the rangers. Heinola and Schneider have very very similar values. Copp is a pending UFA but would 100% sign a deal in NY, he wants to play in the US. Likely around 4.25 million for 4 years.

Copp is a Swiss Army knife, plays PP, PK, all situations 5on5. He was on pace for 58 pts last year, and on pace for 54 this year. He’s a solid player.

People are treating Schneider in a similar way to Turcotte. I’m sure they both will be solid in the end but there’s too much hype around prospects. People talk too much about potential ceilings

Need to re-read what I said about Arizona. No sh*t they don’t make that trade.

As for NYR deal, Copp plays in every scenario, PP, PK and all situations 5on5 and is excellent in the faceoff dot. He was on pace for 58 pts last year and on pace for 54 this year. He’s easily worth a 1st at the deadline, especially with an extension.

I like Schneider a lot but he seems like he’s the prototypical two-way RD that has size. Reminds me almost of Cernak from Tampa. He’s going to be good no doubt, but I dont see why he would have more value than Heinola.

Exactly my thought. Hopefully could be a 3/4D for Jets for a decade, nothing more.

He seems like the perfect #3 dman. Solid everywhere and has size. If rangers fans are that high on him, stay far away lol, because some of the requests I’ve seen fans asking for him is ridiculous.

Yeah I know I’ve seen it 10,000 times in the past 3 weeks. I’m more so looking for an explanation as to why. He’s good but I don’t see how he’s untouchable. Every player has a price.

Look at what Drury has done since becoming GM. Traded for Goodrow and Blais, and signed Reaves, Nemeth, Tinordi and Hunt. What do they all have in common? They play physical, in your face hockey, the biggest thing the Rangers have lacked for years. Plus, they are all big players, with the exception of Hunt. Drury also really values leadership. Schneider has all these things and will be cost controlled for several years while the team will be up against the cap. He is also a right shot D. So why on Earth would Drury trade him? The answer is, he won't. He will trade Nils Lundqvist before he trades Schneider. People were talking all sort of garbage about the moves Drury made and how he was a fool. Yeah, 21-8-4 so far this year. The spine he added to the Rangers has made a huge difference and Schneider is part of the future plans.

I’m dying, I’m sorry but just because your GM brings in some guys with grit and size, doesn’t mean that’s all your team will be. Some fans man, that would be like me saying that Heinola is untouchable because the jets like smaller dman so Heinola won’t be traded at all.

An average at best 2nd pairing defender? Are you crazy? Also who cares about him being a 1C? Know who else is a 1C? Connor bedard. I’d rather take a crack at him with my 23 1st. That pick is untouchable

I can understand wanting to keep the 1st rounder, but just looking at it value wise, it's not too far out of line. Chychrun on his own doesn't land a 1C. Overall, though I agree it doesn't make sense as Winnipeg has absolutely no need for an LD and Arizona should keep the pick.

Then why do you want Schneider so bad? Some fans man. You ask for a reason, and I gave you several reasons from a Rangers perspective. You don't like them, who cares?
