5 goals and 15 assists in 30 games. He’s been nice for the Coyotes. Not gonna lie I feel like their other defencemen have been nice as well. Stralman, Lyubushkin, Chychrun obviously and Ghost himself.

Sure but doesn't change the fact that's a big overpay.

Guys can look good on bad teams sometimes, not saying Ghost is bad but that might be why he's having a good year.

Agree, the Coyotes defense isn't that bad actually... lol
Could see them selling off Lybushkin and Stralman and snagging a couple picks at the TDL, not sure the value of pick each guy garners though.

Valikmaki is more of a player to dump. Zadorov I haven’t heard bad things about. But he’d be a guy that I could see as being a guy to fetch more picks for the Coyotes if used in a trade to get a guy like Ghost. And a lot of people would probably see the Flames having picks late in the rounds and no one values those

30 Games isn't enough to drastically alter a player's value. He was dumped. Maybe he's less of a dump now, but he's not worth significant value (at least not yet).

I understand that. I always thought highly of him honestly. I feel like he was mismanaged by the Flyers coaches and using him in situations he wasn’t meant for and now he pretty much has free range to do his thing with the Coyotes. And I’m sure Sutter has a good system in place for when he gets a defencemen he wants

How is Valimaki a player to dump?? That's ridiculously short sighted thinking, Kylington was on waivers last year and now he's having a good season and Flames fans are wondering what his new deal will be, point is a prospect shouldn't be just tossed away in a deal cause his development has been a perfect arc, maybe Valimaki never figures it out but they shouldn't just throw him in a trade for the **** of it.

Zadorov gets mixed reviews but he's probably more of a Sutter player is then Gostisbehere is.

No one values late picks? What? lol.. Sorry but thats really dumb thinking.

Zary was a 1st round pick too, this is all way too much for Gostisbehere.

Nothing wrong with finding value in players. This is just way too much value.

For some reason when it comes to some players the draft picks matter. But Calgary is almost certainly to be a playoff team with how things are moving for them and they’d be having draft picks late draft picks(somewhere between 20th-32nd picks) and like I said no one on here values those. But apparently for Goestisbehere it does. Zary only strikes me as a decent top 6 player but not anything crazy. Valimaki is paid more than Kylington and clearly he doesn’t satisfy Sutter. He can bounce back of course but the more time that rolls on in Calgary without him the less likely it feels he’ll be a Flame. But the more Ghost keeps up this pace the more he’ll raise his value and the more teams would want to take a chance on him. He’s a puck moving defencemen which is what Sutter seemingly wants on the team. Also the value of Ghosts salary will be used as an advantage in trade talks as he’s making $4.5M AAV. And for a guy who’s been putting up good numbers for a good bounce back season. That’s good stuff. But if this feels like an overpayment then I’m sure the Coyotes should have no problem throwing Kessel in the trade or another serviceable player.

I don't dislike Gostisbehere but this is way too much.

Just cause you view Vakimaki and Zary the way you do means Calgary should just toss them in a trade for a dman they really don't need.

Also I don't think he's really a Sutter type dman, they went and got Zadorov and Gudbranson in the offseason, think those two are more of Sutter type dmen.
