No they dont thats a horrible trade. Sprong and Cholowski are both worth next to nothing. a 2nd round pick for retained drouin is terrible.

As long as we're healthy we're fine. McMichael is plenty ready, issue is Lavs for some reason hates him. Dude needs to play McMichael waaaaaaaaaaay more.

The 2nd round pick is enticing, it's more than what MTL can realistically expect for a full cap-hit 5.5M Drouin. Sprong is young enough to take a flyer on as well.

How am I a moron your trade is terrible. Lets break it down.

Cholowski is easy you picked him up off WAIVERS and has played 1 game in the last month where he didnt even hit 15 mins. He has no value.

Sprong you traded last year for a buried nhler. He is a defensive liability and was benched in last years playoffs at a point where he was no longer a prospect. He is worth next to nothing.

Drouin would be 4th in your forward core in scoring. He would be on a sub 4 million dollar deal. His career playoff production has always eclipsed his regular season production all the way back to junior. He is easily worth more than a 2nd on a retained deal.

If you are eating money on Drouin for multiple years you are expecting way more than a 2nd. In this scenario he is making 3rd line money for higher end 2nd line prouction.

Caps should throw in Hagelin - how about that?

And what else are they being paid to eat that Hagelin cap dump?

What about a counter offer of Hoffman + Perrault for Hagelin, Sprong and a 2nd (ideally next year's pick - MTL have lots of picks this year, the new GM will not have a lot of time before this year's draft so might be more keen on getting picks for next year) ??

I honestly thought MTL would throw in a 3rd for Hagelin...not have the Caps pay more...
