I rather see how Guhle and RP pan out before trading them. I like Girard, but I value RP and Guhle longterm a bit more (even If I know I'm wrong).

Nah I agree with you, I wouldn’t do it either. Guhle is the type of defender who can play 25+ min night after night. I defended Poehling so much & it’s nice to see him good

what an awful girard trade, in what world does that help the avs.

Guhle is good but the rest of the pieces from MTL are meh. They dont make up the value difference between a prospect and a young top 4 D man. If Girard was to be traded I dont see why they would target futures anyway, imo it would have to be for a top 6 F coming back and I dont really see a fit with MTL there.

I like the Hertl signing but I think youre a bit light on some of the other UFA signings, Nichushkin could probably get a Coleman like deal on the open market and I think both Kuemper and Burakovsky would be offered more than 4.5 and 5.25

Guhle is the type of defender who can play in junior…we’ve got him penciled in for 25 minutes in the national hockey league already? Girard is awesome and on an awesome contract. He’s four years older than guhle, and is in his 5th full season. This trade is brutal for Colorado.

The habs arent trading Guhle in any deal that doesnt Include a bonafide #1 RD. Girard is a good player but doesnt fit a organizational need. We still have Romanov Guhle Norlinder Harris Struble among LD options and Edmundson is only 28

none of them are likely to end up as good as girard and harris is likely on his way out.

that said this package isn't anywhere close enough with guhle being the only valuable piece to the avs but hes not really needed.

Girard isn’t a dman you want on your team to be #1. He is an excellent #2 or #3 guy, just not a guy I would want to be my #1 dman. Every Habs fans almost (because we have a lot of delusional fans) would rather keep and wait to see how Guhle turns then trading for Girard right now when we aren’t competing. But I see both teams declining this, I’m not saying COL should take this. They are in win mode now

Having a good number 2 long term at an awesome cap number way out values the chance that guhle turns into something better, which is very remote. Becoming a number one d man is really really hard. I’m not saying Guhle won’t, but the odds of it happening are incredibly slim.

Girard trade is awful for COL how does that make them better right now?

A bunch of unnecessary minor signings that won’t happen, Behrens won’t sign this off season and I don’t think Kovalenko is even eligible to sign for multiple years.

Hertl would be nice but Sakic isn’t going 7 yrs on a UFA with deals to MacKinnon, Byram, and Newhook around the corner.

If that’s all it takes to sign Kuemper something bad happened.
