I don't think the Sharks need another ho-hum prospect like Lundqvist.

Pens decline. They wouldn’t do Zucker alone with 50% retained from Kane. Much less adding a pick and only 2 million retained.

Take him for free, the problem was always the cap consequences, not the players.

Imagine expecting SJ to pay you and take 4M*4yr retention instead of buying him out. Should be easy for even a child to understand, but I guess not for you.

Even in this joke SJ retains a total of 12 M and has to take Zucker.

Imagine not understanding the buyout process to think it would actually be better and cheaper for the team to buy him out rather than pay to get rid of him. You realize the most the sharks could retain on him is 3.5 million? And buying him out keeps dead cap on the books for longer than just paying to get rid of him and simply retaining. And the cheapest cap hit is the couple years of 1.667 million dead cap hit from a buyout. Not to mention in this deal they are only retaining 2 million per year 😂

Oh no I accidentally wrote 4M instead of 3.5M, the horror! I'm perfectly aware Kane's buyout is 16M, the spread out cap hit is better than all up front, when SJ needs cap to resign players.

Thought Zucker had 2 more years after this for some reason, one year actually would have made this reasonable.

Pens fans thinking they know anything about what SJ should do, ha!

“Accidentally”. Riiighhhht 😂
And again you prove you don’t understand his buyout. If you need cap space to sign players then retaining on him is still cheaper. His buyout cap hit next year would be 3,667,667 which last time I checked is a bigger cap hit than 3.5 million, (or 2 million) in this scenario. Then 4,667,667 which again is more than 3.5 million. Years 4-6 is 1,667,667 per year which is more than 0 would be by paying a team to take him off your hands 😂.
