Trade Deadline Ducks Going For It

Created by: Bbpagewolf
Team: 2021-22 Anaheim Ducks
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 3, 2022
Published: Jan. 3, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
There’s been some rumblings that Brendan Gallagher could be on the move. He’d be an excellent addition for the Ducks imo and given how much they’ve exceeded expectations, they could become an attractive destination for someone like Gallagher who I think would love to play with Trevor Zegras. I think he’d waive to come just for that alone.

I think a first have to come back if we're trading him. Of course, retaining some cap is definitely possible considering his age and the lenght of his deal. Lets say Gally 2 millions retained for a 2023 first and a 3rd

I don’t think the Ducks trade their first for Gallagher

Hahah yeah no

This isn’t a good move for Anaheim at all. I hope we have no interest in Gallagher

Do you Montreal guys even bother to look at Gally's contract when you're blithely trading him for significant assets? He's owed $34 million over the last 5 years of his deal, including $17 million total for years 2 and 3, after which it has two more years to run -- until he's 35. That's a horrible idea for any team, but for a team like Anaheim which operates on an internal cap (our payroll this year is about $61.5 million), it's absolutely unthinkable.

I hope Gallagher does score 30 goals for Montreal at age 33. We won't miss him at all.
