I'm not so sure they do. Detroit has Hronek, Seider and Lindstrom they just don't need him.

I'm not sure why you are trading Wilde in the first place and for a 7th rd pick. His cap hit is under a $1M so its not to free up cap space. I think you can get more than a 7th from a team that needs a some help on the right side of their defense. The Islanders are better off keeping him at least until his contract is up.

There's only Barton and Newpower on RD as injury backups. Wilde is waiver exempt another season and could be very useful if Tuomisto doesn't want to cut his college career short.

I'd accept the offer, it's a good deal.

Only reason I suggest getting rid of him is because Lou isnt going to even use him in the farm system so what's the point. Yzerman is allowing Bertuzzi to play and he is unvaccinated

On the Wings Wilde is a 3rd pair Dman he isn't better than Hronek or Seider and he isn't as good as Lindstrom defensively. I see Wilde as a 2nd pair dman why bring in a guy like that its just going to end with an unhappy dman. When Barton or Newpower will be happy for now as the #4 dman or you can sign a UFA to be the #4 dman.

Ok but there is a BIG difference in the skill level of Bertuzzi and Wilde. It isn't just Bertuzzi's ability that is going into that decision to let him play. He is very popular with the fans, his teammates and the coaches. So I wouldn't assume just because Bertuzzi is unvaccinated that Yzerman is going to bring in other unvaccinated players.
