connor brown isn’t moving unless we get a 1st+good prospect. we’re not retaining on murray if we move him because we can always just bury him. you’re in cap hell, not us lol

I think both are bad for Edmonton. Over paying on both trades.

Why wouldn't buy out murray? seems it makes more sense rather than retain for multiple seasons.

You had me interested until I saw Connor Brown in there.

Ottawa declines.

Try again.

Please explain to me how the Ottawa trade is bad for Edmonton.

That would be a pretty smart trade for Edmonton. Murray would actually have a chance to rebound behind a NHL defense/structure. Ottawa has been a goalie graveyard for a while now.

They dump Kassian and Koskinen salaries in the process, picks are always welcome AND they are getting a high end 2-way winger

The thing is... with Dorion, everything is possible?

Something something number of pieces? Something something Connor Brown is a "3rd liner"?

lol calling Edmonton’s back end an NHL defense is generous

Still much better than what we have had in Ottawa

Our defensive zone coverage is barely NHL level in some games. Last season first ~15 games was the ugliest thing I have ever seen at the NHL level, well at least since the 90's

Do you think it's a coincidence when Murray came back from injury in April 2021, he posted 2 shutouts in 5 games and had a 0.954 SV%? Not really, the 2nd half of last season was the best stretch of hockey this team has played in 5 years, like not even close.
