TDL Moves

Created by: exo2769
Team: 2021-22 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 2, 2022
Published: Jan. 4, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
1.
CHI
  1. Koskinen, Mikko
  2. Turris, Kyle
  3. 2022 1st round pick (EDM)
  4. 2023 2nd round pick (EDM)
EDM
  1. Fleury, Marc-André ($3,500,000 retained)
  2. Gustafsson, Erik
  3. Strome, Dylan ($1,500,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Gus is just depth. Let's not flip out about Gus being part of this trade. He costs $800k...can play either LD or RD...and can move the puck.

Strome is depth scoring. He's also an RFA which...if he playes with either Drai or McDavid...he'll rack up the points and you can flip him at the draft. OR you can extend him to a team friendly deal. IMO, if he plays well in EDM he should sign a VERY team friendly 2-year deal because that'll up his contract value when he becomes a UFA.

MAF is the best option out there. I'm assuming he wants to win another cup, but that might not be his priority. Maybe it's being with his family. That's his call and I respect it. He's 100% the best goalie option out there though. Lehner got a 2nd, backup goalie, and C Prospect...zero cap coming back. For a better rental AND cap coming back....the 1st is very reasonable.
2.
CHI
  1. 2022 5th round pick (COL)
Additional Details:
Just PK help and it's a 5th rounder....big whoop...
COL
  1. Carpenter, Ryan
Additional Details:
Carpy is the Hawks leading PK ATOI. It's just a small depth move.
3.
CHI
This is a pure cap move.
Shaw is retired and LTIR. Very little money is owed to him and the only reason he's in this trade is because the Hawks can better prepare for end of season bonuses to avoid spill over into next season.

Connolly is an AHLer. plain and simple. He's taken that very responsibly and helped develop the younger prospects. His cap hit next year at the AHL level is $2.375M

    Edmonton accepts
    Colorado accepts
Buffalo might try to bargain a Tampa 2023 2nd rounder instead of teply and a 3rd but still would maybe accept not a bad deal

    Hawks got the tampa 2nd for Johnson's 5 x 3. I don't think Connely's 2.4 x 1 costs that

Seabs was in that TJ trade too, but overall, I do agree with you.
