Solid team but the defence could be better especially if your signing campbell long term you don’t want to to struggle like fleury did maybe see if you could dump Johnson and sign lindholm maybe not sure I don’t know much about about the hawks system I may be wrong

You're 100% correct. I'd definitely be willing to move TJ too. I have this debate in my head though...shouldn't the Hawks also be developing our own LD prospects? At some point we need one of our (what seems like 7 LD prospects) to step up. That's a optimistic approach for sure. Maybe not a realistic one though.

I agree also having Johnson to be a leader in the room to help develop younger players would be helpful and that backend can definitely be solid as it is if de Haan and murphy can show to be solid depth players and that offence can do wonders

Defence and center core is still too weak to contend imo. That's why I think it's better for us to rebuild. Even after dumping cap and adding big pieces this team still isn't there

But if we can put a team together that Kane/Toews think can contend...why wouldn't the extend with a hometown discount. If $21M can turn into ~$13M... that's another $8M to pay for a center. Shed TJ and you can make that another $13M for a center.

That 8-13 mil goes fast when you need a 1C and a 1LD
