Not moving Kravtsov for a rental NYR has zero shot of resigning to help with VGK's potential Cap issues.

With Pacioretty out long-term, I think Smith will finish the season as a Golden Knight.

I’m not going to lie. I almost wrote “since I could hold my head up high” in the description box 😂

Wasn’t sure if people would get the reference though

And why not? Don’t tell me you still think Vitali Kravtsov equals first round trade value.

Didn't say that but he's not getting moved for a rental.

Well in my opinion, rentals are the only practical trade asset useful to the Rangers at this stage in the game. A long term player would be more useful of course, but no one should have a constant expectation that such players will be available on the market. This is more realistic.

Do guys like Tyler Toffoli and Taylor Hall (to Arizona) not count? And that's just from 2019-20.
You know very well that **** isn't true, even if it didn't really happen in 2021-22.

In neither of those trades for Toffoli or Hall (to Boston) did a player that was top 10 pick OA or with Kravtsov's celling as a player go the other way & BOTH teams acquiring those players resigned them, so they weren't rentals.
The Hall trade by Arizona, as a true rental, was not so good for them in the longer term. If just for Dawson Mercer! They won a a qualifying round in the bubbles & didn't win an actual round in the playoffs... Thats a good trade?
NYR doesn't have the CAP space to resign Smith, so i stand on my original statement.
