Salary Cap Mode: Basic

Description

Get a top 6 RW in toffoli.
Add a depth RW in Kessel who can play any top 3 lines and PP2.
Chychrun really good young dman to solidify bottom pair or play with trouba.
Jarnkrok for Gautier is because calle can play center if needed for depth in case of injury. Veteran player will be more useful to us than Gautier playing 4th line minutes. Both are on last year of contracts.

This is a roster built for a great playoff run and has depth.

The offseason... 1mil salary increase next year reportedly and looks likely.. trading the contracts of tinordi 900k and hunt 760k. Let Kessel walk no money to resign. Trade rfa rights of Georgie for draft pick maybe a 2nd maybe 2 3rds.

That puts around 10M in cap space. Maybe little less without chychrun and toffoli salary retained.. Resign strome between 5 and 5.5. Kakko bridge deal at around 2.3 to 2.8 (see chytils bridge deal). Resign rooney 4th line C for 750k. Backup goalie for around 800k-1.2M. Have enough to sign depth players mckegg 750k or another depth player for cheap.
Could resign hajek for less than 1M or just call up Schneider to be 7thD and start his NHL career.

2 years out 3.5M in buyouts come off books as well as Reaves 1.75 to help resign laf to bridge deal and Miller to bridge deal.. as well as cap possibly going up again 1 more Mil.

3 straight playoff runs cap compliant.

Ya thats not the package the habs would be looking for. They have multiple LD options long term that are at Robertsons level or better.

Kracstov also isnt worth a lot tp us we have Gallagher caufield anderson all long term

The team that will get toffoli will be the one that can offer the best combo of C or RD prospect and a 1st.

Agreed on both. We have assets to get both trades done.. toffoli retention is based on how far Montreal is willing to go.. 500k is conservative estimate 1M would be better

Gorton drafted him years ago and at 22 there is no extra value based on projection.

Chytil and a 1st would what it would need to be in the conversation especially if the habs are retaining.

Ignoring the fact that Arizona can't do that as they already retain 2 contracts, that is hilariously bad value. Arizona will probably want at least one of Othmann or Schneider to be added in, and probably another early to mid round pick. Chychrun brings a great contract for a guy who can easily be a 1LD, and will command a lot of value, and while Kessel isn't the same guy we once knew, he's still an alright asset when retention is thrown in. Those two together will be a large amount, more than I think NYR would be willing to give up.

For 3 years of toffoli at retained salary its not a bad deal. Rangers would be willing to give up firsts again because they have been stockpiling for last 4 years. Stanley cup is goal and to put a good roster out and have 3-5 year solid window at a cup is worth it. Primetime goalie. Norris winning fox. Panarin is top 5 top 7 in whole league. Mika and kreids are playing awesome. They only a few pieces away from being right there.

Chychrun yes is young and good and cost effective contract. Rangers won't trade othmann or Schneider. Guys who they are willing to trade and has been reported already is zac Jones kandre miller chytil and definitely kravtsov.. how about a good goalie in georgiev. He won't be back next year.. then you have draft picks. And mid range prospects such as robertson henrikson barron.. I think there is a deal to be made with all the pieces mentioned.. if not rangers move on call Seattle for Giordano as a 3rd pair guy for 1 playoff run. There's plenty of options

Sure they could just keep hunt on the second line or a non scoring 3rd line.. thats always a recipe for success.. lol.. its already been rumored from multiple people that chytil might be gone as well as miller. They probably gonna resign strome so chytils new contract more money for a 3rd line C makes no sense.. use those 2 pieces to upgrade.. goodrow is a good option at 3C especially the money we're paying him. They need a top 6 RW and have the assets to go get one.. its easier to get a 3rd pair depth dman like Giordano instead of blockbuster for chychrun.. either way they have holes and they need to be fixed. Use the assets now let's not waste panarins prime.

With retention on his contract, I'd say he's worth a late first or a 2nd and 3rd. Arizona will demand at least a top prospect such as Othmann or Schneider as a long term replacement along with other pieces, and NYR will also have to add a bit in order to get rid of Nemeth. Maybe Arizona would go with a trade like

Schneider, Chytil, Nemeth, 1st, conditional 3rd, 3rd for Kessel at 50% and Chyc.

It would be 1st for Kessel & retain, Schneider, Chytil, and conditional 3rd that can become 2nd for Chyc, and a 3rd to dump Nemeth. It seems pretty fair to NYR as they would get a 1LD for the next 5-10 years, and a Winger to help now, without sacrificing too much current performance and not being hurt too much in the future.

We have many LD prospects that is better than Robertson. Therefor add another 1st instead, maybe chytil aswell
