Petry hasn’t been good and that contract doesn’t help him. Detroit doesn’t care what Petry’s done the past couple years. They care about what the next 5-10 years will look like and it’s clear that Hronek is that. Only way I’m moving Hronek is if it involved a young top 6 center.

1. Hronek is playing over 22 min per game, so it's not as if he's going to waste there. Also, teams usually do all they can to keep Seider and Hronek types.

2. Who fits Detroit's contention window better? Petry or Hronek.

3. If Detroit felt Lindstrom was ready for more minutes, wouldn't Detroit move Hronek for an equivalent LD? Considering their current LD are all aging vets, that are all UFAs. Or a 25 yo (or under) top 6 C?

So why when we offer LD prospects they say they have enough. Would Mysak or kapanen work

To answer bullet 3 since the other 2 are obvious unless you’re a homer. Lindstrom doesn’t provide enough offensively to warrant more minutes. He’s an idea bottom pairing guy which is still valuable but doesn’t make sense to move Hronek barring an overpayment. LD is odd for Detroit because our pipeline consists of Edvinsson, Johansson, Wallinder, Buium, Viro, McIsaac, and Sebrango. We just need a stop gap on the left side for a year or 2 (e.g. Goligoski).

Mysak has played LW in the games I’ve seen of him and Kapanen is a throw in we talking about a young top 4 defender.

He hasn’t signed an extension. I’d love to extend him unless we can flip him for a first retained. If we do this then grab a UFA at trust then Yzerplan.

I’m not betting on him becoming a top 6 center. Chances are he’s a bottom 6 guy which is fine but ideally Detroit needs to find another Larkin or better. So you have 2x Larkin, Veleno, 4C or something like that.

Because what we really need a a top 2nd line center prospect, we have LHD covered somewhat.

Again Hronek is playing top.minutes, what are you talking about when you say he is not getting top minutes?

Again another post where the poster has no idea of the other teams trie needs. Yzerman has drafted several LHD in the last two drafts and might have found another gem in Evidsson.

And rebuilding clubs do not trade young proven players for older more expensive players. Petry is a very good player or was, but I think father time might have caught up to him this year.

Basically if you want Hronek and you want us to take Petry, it's Suzuki or nothing. That's just something that Montreal shouldn't do. I honestly just don't see these two clubs being trade partners for Hronek.

At this point, you're obviously trolling. That is a garbage offer and you've done multiple threads ignoring that fact.

Suzuki or this year's first. Otherwise no point in trading Hronek cause you guys don't have the pieces we would be looking for.

I actually said LD equivalent to Hronek. So 24/25 yo established Dman.

I see you signed up yesterday so welcome to CapFriendly! EVERYONE over values their favorite teams players when they first join and I do mean EVERYONE! It takes time to get a good understanding of player value. Read as many ACGMs as possible and read the comments as well.
