They already have a log jam of forwards. I wouldn’t mind it, but they definitely won’t claim him.

Why would the Sabres want rask?

I'd do it to help fill in the center void with Mitts out. But once the team is healthy and/or a young player steps up to fill the void, I would waive/bury him or keep him as 13th forward

I would do it today, no doubt.
Alex Tuch, Peyton Krebs, Anders Bjork, Jacob Bryson, Kyle Okposo and Casey Fitzgerald are all on the Covid list today.
Rask would be an over paid forward (his production is about the same as Hinostroza at a 1/4 the cap hit), but if he continued to produce as he has ytd who knows what he could bring at the TDL.
