I wanted Sam Bennett badly last year. Just for fun, I went down an imaginary rabbit-hole based around the idea of the Leafs acquiring him rather than Foligno at the deadline last year and then just following the logical path from there. It's pointless, of course, but to look at what legitimately could have been was interesting and kind of depressing.
I'm so jealous of the Panthers for getting him. There are always guys out there that I'm interested in and would like on the Leafs/want them to go after him, but I've never been so keyed in on a player like I was with Bennett. I was convinced that he'd do better elsewhere and that the Leafs were going to get him - hometown kid, too, and he's got some talent, can score ugly goals and is a tough SOB as well. Would have been Wendel Clark type beloved in Toronto. I thought he was exactly what they needed, and in hindsight it could have been a great move, not just at face value, but for the implications it could have had as well.

I admit, I didn't love the idea of them getting Bennett. I didn't mind the proposed Kerfoot for Bennett trade that was going around, but when the actual trade happened, I though, "good thing we didn't get him". Now, of course, it's "wish we got him". Agree he would have been a great addition.

He definitely went for more than I expected, but I would rather have paid that price for him than what we paid for Foligno. Putting aside how that could have changed the outcome of their season, the team would likely be in a much better position now than they currently are.
I understand the hate towards Dan but cmon. We are in the process of a new leaf.
I love the players (especially Fitz and Young) but on principle I can’t cheer for them until Snyder is gone. Once he is they will be my absolute no. 2, but I’ve been a Bills fan since the days of Kyle Orton so I’m not going to give up on them.
I wish I had a ps4 during April of 2020. That would have been nice. Also is Shane weight going to be all that in the league
Assuming you mean Shane Wright, I think he'll be good, and a worthwhile first overall selection, but not best of the best, like McDavid, Mackinnon, Matthews, or what Sid and Ovi used to be. I think he'll be on like a John Tavares level.

Bedard has a much higher ceiling, but a much lower floor. He could be the best of the best, or he could be a be a complete bust. I think he'll be slightly better than Wright. Of course, it's always hard to predict these things and I'm not an expert on prospects by any means, so my opinion means little lol.
