How do they do it every time? How do the Hawks find a new way to get bent over EVERY TIME?

Nylander has higher upside and was playing well with Reichel in the AHL so Reichel loses a mentor of sorts and we get another bottom 6 plug. Hopefully hes a better skater than Gabriel. Penguins win this trade. Davidson is not doing great in the trade department.

Good trade for Pens, nice to add another right shot

Chicago fans will like Lafferty, plays extremely hard and has a bit of upside

Even though I always liked sam Lafferty as a player, this is a fleece from ron hextall. I know he was slowed down by injuries, but Alex nylander didn't really fit in Chicago. I expect at least 30 points from him next year. Next coming of Evan Rodrigues potetially

Dammit, I accidently checked off Chicago in the poll (so ignore that). Very odd trade from Chicago's perspective...sure Nylander hasn't worked out the way they'd hoped but he still has a bunch of upside...Lafferty on the other hand, not so much.

KYLE_DAVIDSON My condolences.

I’m stoked for this trade actually. He wasn’t going to get a chance in Chicago and I hope he does well in PIT. In exchange we get our 12th bottom 6’er with negligible offensive potential but details.

TBH 30 points is the minimum you can expect from him. He essentially got that bouncing up and down the lines a couple of years ago in Chicago.

Chicago just wasn't interested in his potential anymore. For a team as offensively inept as Chicago to not try Nylander at the NHL level says a lot about how they see him or a lot about his game. In this case I think it’s the former and they’ll likely get burned by it.

There's one letter in the alphabet that very much describes my feelings to this trade from Chicago's perspective.

How does trading a high ceiling prospect for a 1UFA with 2 points this season make Chicago a better team, especially since they aren't in need for a bottom 6 rental? If Nylander really develops into a top 6 winger long term for Pittsburgh, then this wil be an insane steal.

As a Pens fan, I liked Lafferty's energy and physicality. But it's undenieble that we won in this trade, cause Nylander's upside is higher than Lafferty's. No-brainer. I hope the theory becomes reality and I wish the best for Sam as well.

Fair Deal, Lafferty is a solid bottom 6 player while Nylander is more depth right now but has some higher upside
