i've been thinkin about this...
when was the last time you had a team... where, they went to the finals, and at the deadline, they TRADED for a starting goalie?
I looked into it, WAY to long ago for me to find, (i got tired looking) so in conclusion, uh, to make it far, you need a goalie that you don't trade for, you DEVELOP, examples, Matt Murray (he did this very early) Corey Crawford, Johnny Quick, Tuukka Rask and Tim Thomas.
So I'm thinking, everyone saw what Nedeljkovic did last year with the Canes, so MAYBE, just maybe, we could trade Mikko, we can retain 50%, as he's expiring, we can bolster the blue line, add MORE DEPTH, and/or find a backup for Stuart Skinner (I severely doubt he's ready to be a playoff starter, but this is just an Idea)
I've seen lots of trades involving Ben Chiarot, lots of trades involving Jake Allen, and (if you're following PuckEmpire on Insta you'd know where I'm coming from) Tyler Toffoli.
it just adds more value as mikkos contract is outrageous and it's a rental for a better deal
Montreal passes cause we could get 1st + Lavoie for Chiarot the rest is a crap offer for Toffoli (2 cap dumps and an unneeded 3rd goalie and a 2nd) You need to add another 1st or Bourgault as a minimum. A better deal for both sides would be Chiarot + Toffoli for Koskenen + Barrie + Lavoie + 2022 1st + Bourgault or 2023 1st .
Chiarot = Koskinen + 1st
Toffoli = Barrie + Lavoie + Bourgault or 2023 1st
