Don't get why I keep seeing Motte involved in all these trades. He's by far our most consistent bottom 6 performer and also probably our best PK specialist.
No way we should be getting rid for a 3rd.

You wanna keep Debrusk and Haula? Are you that high on Lysell?

Trade him as a rental and then re-sign him in the off-season, it's like picking up assets for free, get my drift?

What do the Rangers need then?

I am in fact, that high on lysell, seeing as he's our only good prospect. Plus our biggest need is center

Fair enough, but as for Boston's Center depth woes, go blame that on Sweeney, he's the one who re-signed Coyle and brought in Haula

What the Rangers need is a good young center still on their ELC. Like for example one of the many center prospects LA has in their organisation / system.

The Rangers now realise that Strome is a top 6 line center, regardless of if he’s on a line with Panarin or not. But in order to resign him, the Rangers need to shed some salary. Which means Chytil (and some others) might be traded (Probably after the conclusion of the season) to clear cap room. So the Rangers would be looking for a skilled center still on his ELC that might be able to make the NHL team next season.

The Rangers could use a skilled forward and a reliable LD that’s a pending UFA, but it’s not a major priority that’s worth trading anything lower than a 5th ( maybe 4th) round pick in exchange for. So to make a short story long (though you did ask what the Rangers want), maybe the Rangers trade players like Chytil, Georgiev, and Nemeth for a skilled center(s) still on their ELC, maybe a backup goalie to replace Georgiev, maybe a center who’s good at winning face-offs, or maybe some draft picks?

I see. I'm not sure I see them re-signing Strome long-term because of the team's salary cap crunch for next season, he'll be asking for too much money. I take it Rangers fans have given up on Chytil with the season he's having. Rangers could trade for Brayden McNabb from Vegas, he's a pending UFA, maybe Alex Edler from LA, although he's hurt right now. They can call Carolina about Ian Cole. More names include:

Jordie Benn
Calvin De Haan
Danny DeKeyser (Salary would need to be retained)
Nikita Zadorov
Robert Hagg
Scott Harrington
