You could get more for kulak, and Chiarot. Maybe Drouin some more, otherwise pretty good

I'd consider a 1st for Drouin without retention a win.
I think he'll perform better on another team, so I'm even willing to make the pick conditional on his performance.
I'd also take Allard and a 2nd.

I figure you’ll get a Dvorak-type return for Drouin. 1st & 3rd from playoff contender/Nashville.

Why in the world would the kings do this. They aren’t contending. Rather them use that pick + other assets for chychrun

Kings have enough prospects in the pipeline already. Gotta surround the ones you have with skill and talent. Kings will probably be buyers the deadline, if you ask me.

Chychrun would also make sense (for both the Kings and the Habs) but he’s gonna be expensive.

Drouin, Caufield, a lottery protected 1st and a 2nd type of expensive.

I disagree VEHEMENTLY. We ARE contending this season! Edmonton's recent collapse should come as no surprise to anyone who noticed that they have a slow, porous defense and bad goaltending. And our neighbors are still an unproven quantity.

But even if we aren't contending by the trade deadline, I agree with you that we shouldn't waste our first-round pick on 20 games or so of Ben Chiarot. There are much better uses for that pick that don't involve spending it on a rental.

That price for Chychrun? Eichel was traded for: Krebs, who has less value than Caufield. Tuch, who has slightly more value than Drouin, 1st round pick which has less value than the habs, 2nd round pick which has less value than the habs. A bit too much. The trade should be for: Guhle, Clague, Byron, 1st, and two 3rd round picks.
