Nick has not been fit on the Leafs, this was pretty inevitable. This hurts to say, BOS fans, you were right!

Nick has taken 54 more minor penalties than he has drawn since 2018. He has the least amount of points (1G 7A in 30GP) as a forward who has played 10+ games on the Leafs.

These are the 12 best Leaf forwards.

Yeah, he’s been continually sliding down the depth chart (similar to Vesey last season). Since he’s been sent down, was anyone called up?

Haven't seen anything yet but with Ritchie on waivers it must mean Liljegren is healthy. They need the cap space. Leafs must be hoping Nick gets claimed or he clears and gets his game back together with the Marlies and be an addition for the playoffs.

Interesting. I don’t think it’s a cap space move because his salary in the AHL is the same as in the NHL. If he gets claimed, that would give the Leafs some breathing room at the trade deadline.

Oh ya, if he gets claimed (very doubtful, he is due 3.3 mil in actual dollars can't see any team taking that on) that would be amazing. But if he clears it only frees up 1.125mil which is still not enough to carry 22 man roster. But with the Taxi squads back, a 21 man roster is doable.

If he doesn’t get claimed, Toronto could try to flip him (probably in a package) at the TDL. They could try and get a draft pick in a trade, but you’d have to weigh that against whether that depth is worth having in the playoffs. The Leafs have a 1st, a 2nd, and a conditional 7th this year.
