I'm well up to speed on the team revenues and franchise values, but it's not relevant. That doesn't change owners wanting to win a cup, expand their fanbase and increasing their revenues. Just because Apple is the most valuable company in the world, do you see them lowering the costs of their phones every year just because they are the most valuable company?

Believe me I get that. I’m all for making as much money as I can. I just think a move like this pigeonhole’s us into a 1-2 year cup or bust window that could hurt more than help in my opinion.

Qualify Dylan Strome instead. Playing between Kane and Panarin, anyone will look good. Also move Goodrow

M-NTC. Same with Nemeth. No other money to be moved other than Chytil who is gone in the above trade.

Ok so were gonna move Strome who has some unexplainable chemistry with this team and Goodrow who has been worth every penny for us as a swiss army knife:

Rangers are in the business of winning several cups and being a mainstay in the playoffs.

This trade is under the assumption that the Rangers even make it to the cup. You make it sound all to easy.

What do you think gives the Rangers the best chance to get to a cup and STAY cup contenders?

Picking up Kane for Kakko and then in turn losing Strome and Strome, well as not having no cap space.

Or picking up Pavelski as a 1yr rental for a run this year all the while being able to keep Kakko and both Stromes?

Any trade is under the assumption that the Rangers are going for the cup. I'd argue Kane, knowing the chemistry with Panarin, would give the Rangers the best shot this year if they want a top 6 RW. The line of Panarin - Strome - Kane would be the best line in the league...unstoppable. Is there cap gymnastics next year, year for sure, but I doubt there is a better player that "might" be available this year for the Rangers.

Sure if Dallas is out of contention but it's too early to say. The Central and frankly the West is a tight race and Dallas has a few games in hand on most teams ahead of them due to cancellations. I'm not going to argue whether Pavelski is a good pickup but depends where Dallas is.

He’s been extended $9.5 mil. Concern is on 2C and what they do with Strome.

Move Goodrow, qualify Dylan Strome, trade Georgiev, and let Ryan walk if they can fit him. Like I said, Dylan or Ryan isn't going to be a huge difference between Kane and Panarin.

10 team list? If so, move him to the Hawks as part of the trade to move cap out.

Not sure on the specifics of that clause.

Usually that is the case with a NTC

Its moot having a discussion with someone that has no concept of the current Rangers and what awaits them next year.

It's moot having a discussion with someone so concerned that his idea is the only one instead of considering all kinds of ideas and having a discussion. I'm literally doing a next year AGM for the Rangers and the math works against the cap, try it for yourself...but hey, "you don't know anything" is much easier to respond with because I have zero clue about any teams and don't understand the cap much less NTCs versus NMCs or how cap gymnastics are done with every multi-cup winning teams following the first one (see Chicago, LA, Tampa, Pittsburgh, etc.)

What place are the Rangers in right now in the eastern conference? Youre suggesting that all the moves they made this offseason to become a more rounded team be scrapped. Thats excellent.

Because adding Kane, Strome, and DeHaan doesn't make them a well rounded team because it will cost moving Chytil and Goodrow? Come on

DeHaan is a rental, and by adding Kane as is Strome, and we lose Kakko in the process. You simply do not understand the implications of adding Kane.

DeHaan is nothing but filling a gap for a run at the cup for this year only which is important and not to be dismissed but not important next year in terms of cap. Adding Strome + Kane comes at a real cost of losing KK, Chytil, and either Goodrow or dumping Nemeth's cap. Kane at $5.25M (let's go 50% retained) and qualifying offer on Strome at $3.6M next year, that's $8.85M together. KK + Chytil + Goodrow cap collectively is pretty comparable to that in terms of cap cost next year. So to my point earlier, let's say the trade is Kane + Strome + DeHaan for KK + Chytil + Goodrow or Nameth + (picks) and the cap this year and next is doable and doesn't change much from today's outlook.

Your concern should not be this year or next; Kane is better and highly unlikely KK will pass him next year either. The concern should be what is the outlook if KK reaches his full potential in 3+ years while Kane has declined.

Again, youre proving my point here. We cant retain Ryan, who has become a huge part of the fabric of this team.

Continuing with the trading of an up and coming player for an aging player.

So here we are back at square one of my point. Kane costs us more in the long run, for something so unpredictable today.

So how are you planning to retain Ryan next year as is? You're going to have to move Goodrow and Chytil at a minimum

I don't think that's what they were saying, they were saying who is your other top 6 RW now? Yes you upgraded one for Kane but you gave up one in Kakko. You will not win the cup with Julien Gauthier as your 1RW. I also personally think Kane would get more than that considering how bad Chytil has been so far

In this albeit unlikely scenario, you move up D.Strome to 2C & R.Strome to2 RW (or flip them? & Move Kane to 1 RW.
You'd then gotta move M. Barron in that 3 C role at that point or move Goodrow over to 3C & Gauthier to 3 RW ...
If your getting a talent like Kane, some other players may be moved around ...

This is strictly for this season, there would obvious personnel moves in the offseason with the Cap what it is.

and CHI take 50% on both CdH & PK ...
