Doesn't make sense for the Oilers to take on the remaining years of Mrazeks deal.
Oilers need a starter. Mrazek, Smith, and Koskinen are not that. None of them are reliable at this point. So the Oilers are better off letting Koskinens deal run out and build the goalie tandem in the offseason from scratch. Skinner is all but guaranteed the backup role as he is no longer waiver exempt. Given that, the Oilers will look at making a deal for a legitimate starter. If (and likely when given Hollands trade record) that doesn't work, we will look at the free agent options (which there aren't many great options). If free agency also fails, then maybe they look to pry a 1B level goalie from a team with cap troubles.
If the best availible option is Mrazek, the Oilers are in a lot of trouble.
