Nope. No chance.

Add Rossi and another 1st if you want to make this remotely close

While I don't think that this move benefits the Wild that much and doubt we should make it, the value seems to be somewhat correct.

That's outrageous and you know it. Maybe Guentzel is not for sale, sure, but he definitely is not worth Rossi, two firsts, and a good player filling his role...

I would go after a centre man instead of a winger. I don’t think Rossi will be a center man In the NHL in the end, mainly because of his size. He’s too small In my opinion. Get a really good center man, and I think this team could be good… very good!

we'd be immediately rebuilding if we trade Jake. so I'll take either Rossi or Boldy in the deal

The value here is definitely not "somewhat correct"

This deal gives you a guy who matches age with your aging trio of Crosby, Malkin, and LeTang (Zuccarello) while giving you a young HUGE winger that would give the Pens a playoff body, plus a 1st to give your abysmal prospect pool a boost. This trade, IMO, makes a ton of sense for Pitt.

The whole thing is bad to begin with, values way off and trade concept makes zero sense for Pittsburgh

It doesn't make sense for the Wild, either. But just value-wise it's pretty close.

How is it close? Guetzel is way younger and way better than Zuccarello, the gap is a lot more than a late 1st and Greenway. Furthermore because Guentzel is way younger and way better, if Pittsburgh were to sell him why would the core piece coming back be an older inferior player?

You are greatly undervaluing Zuccarello. Since both wingers are solely offensive, I'm not going to compare their defensive stats. But in the last two seasons, Zuccarello has 61 points in 68 games (0,90 PPG) compared to Guentzel's 88 points in 82 games (1,07 PPG). Both make 6 million for two more seasons after this. Not that far away in value, but since Zuccarello is seven years older, the Pens get a 1st and a good, young power-forward. While this trade makes no sense for either team, in my opinion, the value is not that far off.

The value may be close but it just doesn't seem to fit in this situation. If the pens traded Jake they would want a young good roster player like Greenway they wouldn't take on mats at his age with term but would take a vet as a rental. A first round pick is a must, and an A++ prospect or multiple A or B+ prospects

It's not at all. Zuccarello and Greenway are worthless to the Pens, and if we're being honest, Zuccarello is a cap dump. He's making more than double what he should be paid for what he brings. A 2022 1st isn't great value as it'll probably be later than 20th overall and that prospect isn't going to be an impact player for at least 2-3 years.

If you want a great player who's on a great team-friendly contract you're going to have to give up a lot in return.

Zuccarello is older, way worse offensively and worse defensively. He's not even a positive xG contributor at 5v5 over a 3-year sample.

It's legit disrespectful to even suggest that Guentzel and Zuccarello are comparable players.

On one hand, I can't imagine Guentzel with any other team, but on the other hand, he's still in the prime of his career while Crosby and Malkin are on the back ends of theirs. Pittsburgh while be looking to rebuild as soon as those two latter guys age out, so on the other hand, I have a hard time seeing why Guentzel signs his 3rd contract with the Burgh in three years time

Guy scoring at 54 goal pace. On pace for 40 goals in 3 of the last 4 years. The one year off was 30+ goal pace.....here's my junk for him?
but yeah, outrageous.
