Guy scoring at 54 goal pace. On pace for 40 goals in 3 of the last 4 years. The one year off was 30+ goal pace.....here's my junk for him?
but yeah, outrageous.

My junk? Eichel got less than that! Rossi, two 1st round picks and a good replacement for the player you are trading is... junk? Carry on, then...

It's not at all. Zuccarello and Greenway are worthless to the Pens, and if we're being honest, Zuccarello is a cap dump. He's making more than double what he should be paid for what he brings. A 2022 1st isn't great value as it'll probably be later than 20th overall and that prospect isn't going to be an impact player for at least 2-3 years.

If you want a great player who's on a great team-friendly contract you're going to have to give up a lot in return.

Why are you considering Zuccarello a cap dump? He is scoring at nearly a point per game clip! He is paid just the right amount of money for what he does. Purely value-wise, this trade is a lot closer than you make it to be. I'm not saying Zuccarello is as good as Guentzel. I'm saying Zuccarello, a 1st round pick and Greenway are a good starter when discussing Guentzel's value. Again, only value-wise and in a vaccuum. Neither team does this trade, but the VALUE is in the right ballpark.

You are not one of the smarter ones, are ya? Mark Stone got a then-top-prospect Eric Brännström and a 2nd. Even though Stone was a UFA, this package is be at least three times more valuable... Honestly, nobody can seriously think Guentzel is anywhere close that value...

40 goal wingers start with a first, top tier prospect, and middle 6 wingers. Take out the old expensive dude and add your top prospect.

No it's not lmao. The value isn't even in the same universe as what it needs to be.

Zuccarello is SEVEN years older, counts for the same amount as Guentzel against the cap, and is half the player. He doesn't generate scoring chances nor control possession at even a remotely comparable rate to that of Guentzel. Guentzel is a top 7 player in his position in the entire league, Zuccarello is barely even a top 7 player on his own team. These players are not the same.

Greenway is total garbage. Let me put it to you this way: Guentzel has scored the same amount of goals THIS YEAR ALONE (27 GAMES) as Greenway has in his last 149 games. Please stop pretending he's a good player.

So when you account for the fact that Greenway and Zuccarello barely have any value combined, adding a late 1st round pick doesn't do much. Therefore, if you want a top 7-9 player in his position who is on a very team-friendly contract, you're going to have to offer a top tier prospect in Rossi and another valuable asset such as a 1st round pick if you even want to have a conversation about this.

This doesn't even consider the fact that trading Guentzel makes no sense at all for the Pens and to even suggest that it does, and for that piss-poor return only proves to show your own idiocy.
